My Big Why
I love creating experiences that empower and uplift our shared humanity.
Over the past 20 years, this has looked like leading design for groundbreaking 0-to-1 projects, collaborating on several innovative startups, and empowering the next generation of change-makers by teaching them the theory and practice of UX design.
As the human needs of our time intensify and multiply, human-centered designers like myself take this as a call to action. We step up not only with our tools, but also with our ears and hearts open. Asking questions. Listening. Seeking to understand. Ensuring that people’s needs are heard and prioritized by the drivers of business strategy. When solutions are precisely aligned with the human needs they’re designed to serve, that’s when the magic happens.
A peek into my world
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, in a midcentury modern home with my wife and our two children.
The thing I’m most proud of (beside my kids) is being the founder and host of Creative Powerup, an online community of heart-led innovators. It’s a creative launchpad for visionary ideas. Members receive the support of creative community, cutting-edge tech, and a human-centered product design method to turn their biggest, boldest visions into realities.
It’s a profound honor to serve as host to the Creative Powerup community. The depth and originality of the members and their projects frequently catches me by surprise and reminds me of how fresh and limitless human creativity truly is.
