Hey there! I’m Shalom, and I built Stock Intelligence. This is the part where I tell you what data I collect, why I need it, and how I handle it. I’ll keep this as straightforward as possible.
The short version
Stock Intelligence connects to your Notion workspace to create stock analysis reports. I only access the specific pages you grant permission to, and I use your data solely to generate analyses. I don’t sell your data, share it with anyone, or use it for anything other than making the tool work for you.
What data I collect
When you sign in with Notion:
- Your name and email (from your Notion account)
- Your Notion workspace ID
- An access token that lets me write analyses to your workspace
When you run an analysis:
- The ticker symbols you analyze
- Timestamps of when you run analyses
- Usage data (how many analyses you’ve run)
Automatically collected:
- Basic logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for debugging and security
What I do with your data
Your Notion access token: Encrypted and stored securely so the app can write analyses to your workspace. Each analysis uses YOUR token, not mine—this keeps your data isolated and secure.
Your usage data: I track how many analyses you run to enforce rate limits and monitor system health. I also use aggregated, anonymized data to understand usage patterns and improve the product.
Your email: Used to communicate with you about your account (like when I approve your beta access). I won’t spam you or sell your email to anyone.
What I DON’T do with your data
- I don’t read your Notion pages beyond what’s needed to write analyses
- I don’t sell your data to anyone, ever
- I don’t use your financial analysis choices for my own trading or research
- I don’t share your data with third parties (except the services listed below)
Third-party services I use
To make Stock Intelligence work, I rely on:
- Notion – Where your analyses are stored (their privacy policy: notion.so/privacy)
- Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) – Provides stock market data
- FRED (Federal Reserve) – Provides economic data
- Vercel – Hosts the application
- Upstash Redis – Stores session data temporarily
- Google Gemini – Powers the AI analysis (financial data sent to Gemini for analysis generation)
These services have their own privacy policies. I chose them because they’re reputable and I trust them with data.
Data retention
- Session data: Deleted after 24 hours
- Usage logs: Retained for 90 days
- Your account: Kept as long as you use the service
- If you delete your account: I’ll delete your access token and personal data within 30 days
Your rights
You can:
- Request a copy of your data (email me: shalomormsby@gmail.com)
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Revoke Notion access anytime (in your Notion settings)
- Ask questions about how I handle your data
Security
Your Notion access token is encrypted using AES-256-GCM. I use HTTPS everywhere. I take security seriously, but no system is perfect—if you notice something suspicious, let me know immediately.
Changes to this policy
If I make significant changes, I’ll email you. Minor updates (like fixing typos or clarifying language) won’t trigger a notification.
Beta program notice
Stock Intelligence is currently in beta. This means:
- The product is evolving, and features may change
- I may collect additional feedback and usage data to improve the product
- You’re helping me build something great—thank you!
